Carl Lavery received his Ph.D. in theatre from the University of East Anglia in June 2001. He now lectures at De Montfort University, Leicester. He has published and given papers on genet, Théâtre du Soleil, and political drama. He is currently completing a book on Genet and the question of commitment.
