Robin Graham

Born in 1960, originally from north-east London, Robin studied science A-levels, founded a school newspaper, and has a Physics degree from Imperial  College. He spent four years researching into the action of anaesthetics,  and eight years as a computer systems engineer, then left work in 1993 to concentrate on a mixture of writing and shiatsu.  In February 1995, he moved to Manchester.  The most significant event in his recent life was a trip to Thailand in 1990, which included snorkelling around a beautiful little island called Koh Tao.

Robin is both a playwright and performance poet, often working with community groups.  His work to date includes:

"A Better Place" (Stop Gap Theatre Company, Guildford)

"Club Nemesis" (Green Room, Manchester), written after 2 open weekend workshops to explore and create a piece of scary theatre.

"Crikey Mikey's Summer Holiday" (Ribblesdale High School) and Poet In Residence at Clitheroe Castle as part of The Year Of The Artist.

"A Mother's Perspective" (North West Community Tour with Greenhouse Northwest) - a monologue about a grandmother who is HIV+.

"Funder Enlightening” (Poetry Commission, North West Arts Board).

“Children of Abraham” (Manchester Sangeet Academy) about Jews and Moslems in North Manchester.
