Tamar Mebuke is Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages at Georgian Technical University. Tbilisi, Georgia. Graduated from Georgian State Institute of Foreign Languages in 1981.

Postgraduate courses at the Department of the English Language at Georgian State University.

Candidate dissertation in Text Linguistics in 1985.Worked at Language- teaching courses in Tbilisi (1981-1984), Latvian State University, Riga (1986-1987). Since 1988 has worked at Georgian State Technical University, Tbilisi as a lecturer, Assistant Professor, Full Professor at the Department of the Humanities and Social Sciences now renamed to Department of Foreign Languages. 2004-2006 – doctoral courses at Georgian State University. 2006 – doctoral dissertation in Theory of Literature

Number of publications – 98 in English, Georgian and Russian Languages, including 6 books on the Theory of Prose Genres, Mythological Archetypes in Literature, Reader in Text Linguistics and Discourse Analysis, and Theory and Practice of Translation. Participated in 38 international conferences.
