Dan Pinchbeck is Senior Lecturer in Creative Technologies at the University of Portsmouth. He is co-founder of the Advanced Games Research Group and works primarily with the application of cognitive science models to understanding game content and player behaviour. His research publications address issues of experiential reality formation, consciousness, presence and games as mass market virtual realities. He is currently undertaking an AHRC Speculative Research Grant project, investigating the potential for alternate narratives in first-person perspective gaming.
