Stephen Michael McGowan was born in the city of Hull on the east coast of England, but now resides in York (an ancient city with much heritage and England’s second most favoured city for visitors). A hungry reader from an early age and loving all genres he became an avid bookworm, adoring both factual and fictional works, although poetry, early sci-fi and horror piqued his imagination more than anything else. He’s been an author of poetry since early adulthood. His poetry has been published in the U.K., U.S.A. and most recently in India.

At the moment Stephen is in full time employ and so poetry is at this point in his life still his love and not his career, although he is now considering an anthology of his own published pieces.

He lives with his fiancée Dimple Godiwala, an Indian-born literary critic, in York.
