Sonja Streuber is an Independent Scholar in Music, American Literature, and Critical Theory with an emphasis on performance studies.  She writes about Walt Whitman and Twentieth-Century German composers, early American musical theater, Gertrude Stein, and Twentieth-Century hyphenated-American women writers.  Streuber holds a Staatsexamen in Music and English Literature from the Johannes-Gutenberg-Universitaet Mainz in Germany, and an M.A. degree in English and a Ph.D. A.B.D. from the University of California at Davis.
